Are you ready for the ultimately exciting finale of the Krk Bike Adrenaline Story?

We are happy to announce the Krk Bike Adrenaline Story – a perfect weekend for both experienced and recreational MTB & downhill enthusiasts looking for an exciting ride on the island of Krk during the long weekend of 7 and 8 May!

DAY 1, Saturday 7 May –The Krk Bike Adrenaline Story begins with a circular MTB bike tour in the company of experienced guides. Over the course of this challenging route, you’ll get acquainted with the scenic beauty of the karst landscape and the distinctive history and cuisine of the island of Krk. The 40 km-long route - with 1,000 metres of ascent - takes you from the Stara Riva waterfront in Baška, across the ‘Moon Plateau’ through the fields of Žlahtina vines and all the way to Vrbnik. After a short refreshment break, we’ll ride back to Baška, where there’ll be a tasting of Žlahtina wine and the most famous island pasta – homemade šurlice.

DAY 2, Sunday 8 May – This is an adrenaline-driven, extreme sports day reserved for all those who want excitement and a full downhill experience on the most popular island trails! Thanks to the provided shuttle service, you have the opportunity to explore downhill trails from Treskavac to Punat and Baška in the company of experienced guides. Refreshments will be provided for both groups during the tour; after a short break, the most daring can embark on a bike & hike tour over the highest peak on the island of Krk – Obzova (569 m) – and back to Baška, where there’ll be refreshments waiting on the famous Veloj Plaža Beach.

Refreshments and shuttle transport are provided for all participants; the fastest and most creative ones will receive valuable adrenaline (and delicious) prizes.

Krk Bike Adrenaline Story – the tour:
Starting with a short ride through the historic centre of Baška, at the church of the Holy Trinity (Sv. Trojice) we begin the ascent of the ‘Path to the Moon’, then across the distinctive karst ‘Moon Plateau’ and descend into the fields of Žlahtina vines along the ‘Camino Krk’ trail to the picturesque small town of Vrbnik, where the first refreshment break will be provided on Škujica Square. After a toast with Žlahtina ice cream and a short guided walk through Vrbnik – an ancient town perched atop a cliff 49 m above the sea, whose houses are nestled around a bell tower and surrounded by medieval walls – the tour continues uphill along a road for a few kilometres before making a turn onto a gravel path in the direction of Mali Hlam, followed by several uphill and downhill parts along single trails in the direction of Treskavac. Here we continue along the road, and then along the marked MTB route number 2 and ride downhill back to Baška, where we will taste Krk’s indigenous wine Žlahtina from the Nada Restaurant & Winery of Vrbnik, and the most famous traditional island pasta – homemade šurlice. We are sure that this dynamic, interesting (and delicious) tour will make an impression on everyone!

Sunday 8 May 2022 Krk Bike Adrenaline / Extreme Story

Krk Bike Adrenaline / Extreme Story – the tour:
With shuttle vehicle support, on this day we’ll ride some challenging enduro and downhill trails from Treskavac in the direction of Punat and Baška with experienced guides. A total of four downhill trails are planned. There will be refreshments and a picnic in natural surroundings. On the trail towards Punat, there will be a competition with a prize for the two fastest downhillers – a zipline ride & wine tasting with snack for two in Nada Restaurant & Winery of Vrbnik. After the downhill tours, we’ll return to Baška by shuttle vehicle.

Important information:

For those who want to experience a rush of adrenaline, after the break we’ll set off on a very special, extreme bike & hike tour that is 16 km long with 300 metres of ascent, and technically demanding in parts. We will lead you over Krk’s highest peak, Obzova (569 m), with spectacular panoramic views of Krk, nearby islands and the mainland. This exciting tour leads across the distinctive rocky karst landscape and in places is not suitable for cycling so at these points we will hike. At the end of the tour, after an unforgettable downhill stage to Baška, you can relax and enjoy a well-deserved rest in the beach bar on the famous Vela Plaža Beach.Expected time of arrival in Baška is around 15:30.

All participants of the Krk Bike Adrenaline / Extreme Story are eligible for another valuable adrenaline prize: Parasailing for 1 person – Wind Watersports. The winner of this award will be drawn at random at the end of tour on Vela Plaža Beach in Baška.

The island of Krk is known for its unique quality dry white wine Žlahtina. Vrbnička Žlahtina is cultivated on the Vrbničko Polje plain, which spreads over 211 ha. It is considered an indigenous wine of Krk vineyards and is produced from the indigenous variety Žlahtina Bijela. Its name derives from the Slavic adjective žlahten which means noble. * Wearing a helmet is mandatory and taking a spare inner tube is recommended for all participants, who are required to comply with traffic rules and the Traffic Safety Act. * Bicycle tours are technically demanding or difficult and are intended for experienced MTB riders and require a very good level of fitness.
